Possessive pronouns in English help to indicate who owns an object or thing. They make speech shorter and more natural, replacing long constructions: instead of This is my book, you can say This book is mine.
Pronouns such as mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs are often confused with possessive adjectives (my, your, his, her, our, their). But they are used differently: adjectives come before the noun, and pronouns come instead of it.
In this collection of exercises, you will practice:
- distinguish between possessive pronouns and adjectives;
- substitute the correct form;
- correct mistakes;
- use them in real-life situations.
